3, 2, 1 ... Lights!

The holiday season kicked off in downtown Lakeville Thursday night with the city's annual lighting ceremoney at Pioneer Plaza.

Scores of residents were on hand to see the electric switch flipped to turn on thousands of lights strung on the trees in the downtown park.

Before the lights were turned on, residents—many enjoying cookies and hot beverages donated by the Main Street Coffee Cafe—were serenaded to by the Lakeville North Now and Then Singers in the darkened park. The only glimpses of light were from camera flashes and nearby businesses

Then, after the crowd counted down from 10, the clear white lights were flipped on, and the high school singers finished their set of traditional holiday tunes.
