Heritage Library Schedules Children's Programs

Heritage Library is located in the same building as the Dakota County License Center and adjacent to the Lakeville City Hall, along Heritage Drive, near downtown Lakeville.

Here are upcoming programs scheduled at the Lakeville Heritge Library:

• Pirates Ahoy with the Storyman from England
Children of all ages and their parents or caregivers are invited to enjoy swashbuckling pirate adventures with the Storyman from England at the Dakota County Heritage Library in Lakeville onMonday, August 5, 10:30 – 11:15 a.m.

• Chapters and a Craft: James Herriot’s Animal Tales
Children ages 5 – 12 are invited to listen to fabulous tales of pets followed by a chance to design their own ideal pet at the Dakota County Heritage Library in Lakeville on Tuesday, August 6, 1 – 2 p.m.

• Summer Vacation Storytime
Children of all ages are invited to enjoy a program of stories, rhymes and activities about taking a summer vacation at the Dakota County Heritage Library in Lakeville on Wednesday, August 7, 10:30 – 11:00 a.m.

• Storytime for Babies
Children up to 24 months of age and their caregivers and older siblings are invited to enjoy a program of stories, songs and actions rhymes specially chosen for very young children at the Dakota County Heritage Library in Lakeville on Friday, August  9, 10:30 – 11:30 a.m.  The twenty-minute program will be followed by open playtime with age-appropriate toys provided by the Library.

• Seed Mosaics with ArtStart
Ages 8 to 14 are invited to register for a seed mosaic art experience presented by ArtStart at the Dakota County Heritage Library in Lakeville on Monday, August 12, 1 – 3 p.m. Registration begins on Monday, July 29 atwww.dakotacounty.us/library<http://www.dakotacounty.us/library> or (952) 891-0360.

• Chapters and a Craft: Jan Pienkowski’s Fairy Tales
Children ages 4 – 12 are invited to listen to some classic fairytales then decorate their own royal crown as a souvenir at the Dakota County Heritage Library in Lakeville on Tuesday, August 13, 1 – 2 p.m.

• Kindergarten Here I Come Storytime
Children who will be entering Kindergarten and their caregivers and siblings are invited to a special storytime at the Dakota County Heritage Library in Lakeville on Wednesday, August 14, 10:30 – 11 a.m.

• Speed Racer Science
Ages 7 – 12 are invited to register for a program to learn about the science of motion and forces then design and race cardboard tube race cars at the Dakota County Heritage Library in Lakeville on Friday, August 16, 10:30 a.m. – noon.  Registration begins on Friday, August 2 atwww.dakotacounty.us/library<http://www.dakotacounty.us/library> or (952) 891-0360.
