American Legion Post 44


May 2014 Post Meeting notes:

 

The Lakeville VFW will be closing its doors this summer, right now it appears that will happen sometime after Pan-A-Prog.  The Legion Post will be looking for a new meeting place, the Heritage Center came up as an option we will be visiting that site for more information.  Any ideas on other meeting places please let us know.

Memorial Day is set aside to honor those who have died in service to the nation. In remembrance and celebration, on Monday, May 26, the American Legion Post 44 and VFW Post 210 of Lakeville will present their annual Memorial Day color guard visits at area cemeteries to honor the military service members buried there.

 

This tradition of honor has taken place in Lakeville for more than 50 years. The stops on the route will each include a brief presentation, the Color Guard, and the Lakeville North High School band. Residents are invited to attend any or all of these recognition stops at the following area cemeteries (times are approximate).

 

Monday, May 26 (those in the ceremony will meet at the VFW at 7:15am bus leaves at 7:45 sharp)
