Top Five Reasons to Elect Andrew Brobston: #1: You Deserve Representation Too

See the #1 reason that you should vote Andrew Brobston for Minnesota Senate in District 58.

As I have discussed with many of you at your doors, I am running for Minnesota Senate to represent all of us. It does not matter to me whether you consider yourself Republican, Democratic, or anything else. As your Senator, I work for you, not for the party.

Some people may view this idea with skepticism, and understandably so. You have heard more than one candidate, past or present, claim to work across party lines. Sometimes current elected officials claim that they have a record of working across party lines. Then, they mention uncontroversial legislation as an example. Anyone can work across party lines when everyone already agrees on the major issues. The real test is in working out significant differences in a way that considers the interests of all the constituents and attempts to meet these interests. I have discussed elsewhere how I would accomplish this goal. Shutting down the state over party politics, as we saw last year, is wrong. No matter the philosophical differences, your legislature has a responsibility to work together for the people of Minnesota.

My desire to represent all of us does not stop with party identity. I have said that I will not represent the wealthiest at the expense of everyone else. I will represent workers, small business owners, seniors, our children, and anyone else in the district. I will not say that I spend more time on the Senate floor "defending billionaires and millionaires" than anyone else in the Senate.

Today, it is your turn to decide. I would be honored to have your vote and to serve you in the Minnesota Senate. Please, whether you are voting for me or not, make sure you get to the polls today. Our country, our state, and our localities need your guidance and direction today.
