King Has Good Manners and Long Legs: Pet of the Week

He's a handsome lab mix, available for adoption at Happy Hound Rescue in Lakeville.

Looking for a well mannered big dog? Here he is, and at a very reasonable fee too! Read what Happy Hound Rescue in Lakeville has to say about him:

King is a three-year-old mixed breed dog whose elderly owner died and he ended up in a shelter southeast of the metro. He is 80 pounds with tall legs and is a very handsome lab mix.

King gets along very well with his four canine foster brothers who are all 90-100 pounds. He's on a hobby farm and listens well to foster dad and stays close by when they are out hiking or working about the place.

While King lived with cats before, at the shelter he was a little too interest in them so he should probably be in a cat free home. To our knowledge he hasn't lived with children in the past, so kids 10 and up would be best in his new home.

King seems to be able to escape fences if he chooses so he would do well with an electric fence or a privacy fence. He would love to have another playful dog 50 pounds and up in his new home or he could be a good hobby farm dog if an electric fence was used.

King has good indoor manners and doesn't chew anything. He is house trained and after his experience in the shelter he detests being kenneled; this is extremely stressful to him. You need to be okay with not kenneling him which isn't a problem as he is well behaved in the house.

King is being fostered in the south metro for Happy Hound Rescue and he is neutered and fully vetted. His adoption fee is only $80.
