Lakeville's City Council on Tuesday, Jan. 29, will be reviewing applications of those interested in filling the group's open seat. The work session for the council begins at 6 p.m. at Lakeville's City Hall. In addition to discussing applicants, the group will discuss meeting protocol, board and commission appointments, legislative priorities, and other issues.

A mix-up by the city of Lakeville and Dakota County resulted in residents getting the wrong date printed on their 2012 tax statements for the city's 2012 Truth in Taxation hearing. As a result, the city is encouraging residents who want to talk about taxes to attend the Dec. 17 meeting. Lakeville’s School Board will be holding two work sessions this week to dig deeper into the $15.8 million in budget cuts for the 2011-2012 and 2012-2013 school years that were presented last week by district administrators. The Lakeville Area Public School District’s school board will hold it’s regular meeting at 7 p.m. on Tuesday, Jan. 11 at the district’s administrative office. On the agenda for the meeting, which is open to the public, is the election of school board officers for 2011.
