Wear Blue, Support Injured Hockey Player Jenna Privette

Jenna Privette hasn't garnered the same media coverage as Jack Jablonski, but the Lakeville native also suffered a serious spinal injury playing high school hockey. Now there's a movement to support her recovery by wearing blue on Jan. 11.

A movement to show support for an injured is gaining steam.

People are encouraged to wear blue today, Jan. 11, to support Jenna Privette, a senior at St. Croix Lutheran High School in West St. Paul, and Lakeville native, who was injured in a hockey game on Jan. 7.

Jake Privette, Jenna's brother, wrote on a Facebook page dedicated to supporting her recovery, that she's in good spirits.

"I know she feels blessed ... it's because of people such as yourselves that she keeps her chin up and keeps fighting," he wrote.

He also wrote that Privette still can't move her legs, but has feeling and movement in her arms, though, recovery has stalled in recent days. Her Facebook page has more than 1,600 followers.

Privette's injury hasn't garnered the same kind of , a Benilde-St. Margaret’s sophomore who was paralyzed during a game on Dec. 30.

The night Privette was hurt, she had a Number 13 painted on her cheek, in honor of Jablonski.
