Patch Match: Kids 'n Kinship Seeks Mentors for Youth

First Name: Shan
Age: 8
Interests: Shan enjoys bike rides, playing soccer and being outside as well as coloring, Pokemon cards – and Wii games.
Personality/Characteristics: Shan is talkative and polite. He lives with his single parent mom in Farmington. Shan is in third grade – he is very intelligent; social interaction at school is a challenge for Shan.
Goals/Dreams: Shan would like to learn more about martial arts.
Looking for: A male mentor or couple as mentors. Shan‘s mom is hopeful that a mentor can support Shan in making positive choices
Information: This child is one of almost 50 children currently waiting for a mentor through Kids ‘n Kinship, a private non-profit serving Apple Valley, Burnsville, Eagan, Farmington, Lakeville and Rosemount in Dakota County for 40 years. If you're interested in becoming a mentor, you're invited to attend an information session on Jan. 31, 6-6:45 p.m. at the Wescott Library in Eagan. Mentors can volunteer as individuals, couples, or families for weekly fun and enriching activities at home or in the community on their own schedules.
