POLL: Hardee's Coming to Lakeville? Looks That Way

The nationwide burger chain highlighted a spot in Lakeville as a possible location for a new Hardee's restaurant, according to a City Pages post.

When Hardee's announced plans earlier this month to build as many as 59 new locations around the Twin Cities in the next five years, there was still a lot of mystery over where those restaurants would be built.

That question appears to have been answered, as City Pages secured a map of planned locations for the burger joints.

One of the spots is along the Interstate 35 corridor near County Road 50, according to the map on the City Pages website. To this point, nothing has been presented to the city of Lakeville, however.

Jim Sullivan, head of franchise development with CKE Restaurants, told City Pages the tentative locations—59 in total—all have high traffic counts, populations in the 40,000 range, good site visibility and drive-thru access.

Michael Sawyer, CKE's market planning manager, told the paper that the locations aren't guaranteed to eventually house Hardee's restaurants, but said the preliminary sites will serve as "reference points."

Why another junk food place in Lakeville? Please! We need a Trader Joe's, Whole Foods store! We have stores near Cub Foods that remain vacant. Why is that?.

According to another article, Trader Joe's looked at Lakeville but likes to have a liquor store as well. Since Lakeville own's the liquor stores, its not going to happen. Shop at the Farmer's Market for fresh food.

As for the vacant stores, they are asking too much for rent so no one is going after them. They wouldn't make a profit.

Nice mid range priced restaurants would be a nice addition.

Minnesota has no Popeye's, no Church's (ok 1), no Chick-fil-a, and Hardee's here did away with chicken! If they are going to serve chicken, fine, bring it on. Otherwise, it's just another burger joint.

I would be happy to have a Hardee's in town. They have some good food. I rather see a Hardee's instead of another McDonald's like the propsed one on Cedar.
I would also like to see some other places here like Panera or Chipotle.
